- HBS Healthcare Initiative (HCI)

The Healthcare Initiative was launched in 2005, and serves as a gateway for healthcare research, educational programs, and collaboration across all sectors of the healthcare industry. It supports the delivery of an MBA program that allows students to focus on healthcare through appropriate courses, extracurricular activities, and recruiting opportunities.

HBS LIFE SCIENCES FELLOWSHIP FUND BOSTON - Jan. 22, 2008 - Harvard Business School (HBS) announced that it will award $20,000 fellowships to each of 10 incoming MBA students who present outstanding credentials from their work in the field of life sciences. The new Life Sciences Fellowships, which recognize academic achievements, professional accomplishments, and/or honors granted by academic, commercial, or professional organizations, will be awarded to students entering the School's MBA program next fall. |

Students: Over 10% of all HBS students are interested in healthcare. The HBS Healthcare Club currently has about 200 members and is one of the largest clubs on campus. The Healthcare Club is governed by the Healthcare Advisory Board which is comprised of five senior and well-respected healthcare professionals. The Healthcare Advisory Board provides oversight and guidance to the Officers of the HBS Healthcare Club.
Faculty: 20% of HBS faculty conduct healthcare research and there are more than 400 healthcare cases available through HBS Publishing. In addition, several faculty members have published healthcare books in the past year, click here to see recent publications.
Alumni: The HBS Health Industry Alumni Association has over 600 members and plans several events that students can attend including two annual conference and a host of other networking events. - Education
MBA Program: Over 10% of each MBA class finds jobs in healthcare including biopharma, healthcare delivery, medical devices, venture capital, private equity, or consulting. In addition, 10% of all cases taught in the first year curriculum are healthcare focused, providing all students a wide variety of exposure to the industry. Healthcare industry Career Coaches are available though MBA Career Services.
MD/MBA Program: This 5-year joint degree program is offered to students pursuing a Harvard MBA and MD.
